Hi - This is my first post, but I have read and learned a lot from all of you. I thought it was about time I shared some of my work...so here is a batch of blue lace agate, bloodstone, moss agate, and purple star garnets from Idaho. These were rolled in my Model B tumbler for months in 46/70, and eventually finished up in Tin Oxide. There were also some other misc. stones that I will post on a future thread that I didn't get to photograph yet. Here goes... Full Tray Bloodstone/Moss Agate Blue Lace Agate Purple Star Garnets Thanks for checking these out. Jim

Hey NSFY (I love that line!) Welcome to the board and you sure started out with a wonderful batch! I love them all! Bloodstone can sometimes fracture when you least want it to but it is so worth it! Fran

Nice, very nice. Did you collect the garnets yourself? What process did you use - I mean - did you run them all by themselves and for how long? (just curious) Karock

Thank you all for the kind welcome, it is much appreciated.
On the garnets, my wife gave me a small bag of the rough a while back and asked me to tumble them for her (I'd say she got them from eBay). I ran them with Lakers in my Harbor Freight tumbler for a few weeks, enough to get them ready for 120/220. Then, after months of the bloodstone rough tumble when I finally had enough stones to get the load to 5/8, I threw them in. They then went through the normal steps of 500, 1000 prepolish, polish with the rest of the load.
Thanks again everyone! NSFY

NSFY - Welcome and WOW!!!
For a first tumble - this is going to take some beating Buddy, those are exquisite!
I love Bloodstone, takes a killer shine and it's so hard! You have been studying and being very patient indeed Mate! And look at that shine for a payoff! Well worth the effort. Blue lace too - oh man, that's just spoiling us! Fantastic job! Can't wait to see more of your tumbles!
Cheers,
Harry.
