Hi My Name is Roy I have reading this forum for two years now and would like to say it is the best place to learn about rocks and what to do with them. I had a small mishap with a toilet in our house and had to replace it, i broke it. I sat around and the garbage guy would not take it so i broke it up so it would fit in the garbage can, then i had an idea maybe it would good to use as a filler for my tumbler. well the firt batch of rough just finished and the toilet pieces are working out just fine. what do you think should i keep tummbling with this or are there any problems you can see. so far so good. thanks please sent your thoughts.

And, if you want to try your hand at making arrowheads, the tank and lid makes good practice material...you can you the scrap for tumbling filler.

I agree with Weeshan, if it works, use it. I sometimes use glass marbles - I get a 1 to 2 pound bag of them at the dollar store. They work great with material of like hardness. I thinkwhere people run in to trouble when trying different things like this is the hardness and size. If the material is too soft it just get used up. If it is too hard then it can eat up nice material. If too many large pieces are used then the tumble is "clunkin' and clangin' instead of Slippin and Sliddin. A mix of different sizes helps, especially in the beginning stages. (just my opinion - free advice isn't always worth the price you pay for it!) Karock
