Fall is fast approaching. I found this light blue opal on a recent field trip and someone gave me some very small pieces of precious opal. I decided to try my hand at inlaying. I made a fantastic discovery, which is to start with something larger. This piece is only 1/4" along the bottom and the moon is only 5mm wide. Way to small for my big clumsy digits. Dang that is a beautiful piece of art:) My grandaddy's land had a swamp on the backside of the garden and thats what the full moon looked like coming up except there was a dragon in it:)

What a beautiful piece you made! I think you need to mount it in a gold brooch setting. You have taken toww nice pieces of material, and put something together that brought out the true artist in you!
