Okay guys .... patience not being a virtue for me ... if I were to gather up tumbling rough and eliminate (for the most part) any and all sharp edges/corners ... can I add these to the vibe batch to make it a full batch?
It is going to take me another few weeks to cut and/or Gryphon enough to make a batch.
I really need to get this done as until I have it started I cannot get back to wire wrapping. I just cannot stand unfinished stuff.
As always Julie

If it's a roughing it doesn't really matter what rocks you use as fillie. You can even use rocks that are harder then the rough you want to polish.
Something to think about is colored broken glass as a filler. You can run it through all the stages and add as necessary right through the polish stage.
The rocks come out great and the semi polished glass is ready to take a trip of it's own through a polish stage and then you'll not only have polished rocks, you'll have some polished multi colored glass as well! connrock

I've used the small glass nuggets you can get at hobby stores and walmart. They wear down fairly fast, but seem to work well.

Hi all!
When you talk about glass pieces/nuggets, are you talking about the little bags of glass beads you can get at the $ Store?
I have placed an order with Shawn for some ceramic pellets, but still want to get more tumbled stuff.
Last night I sat down and pulled the opalized wood chunks I have and will try to get a couple pieces out of that.
I am already working on (in the Lortone) a batch of snowy quartz and the other barrel boysenberry and purple from MJ.

I break up stained glass scraps and bottles.
Breaking the glass can be dangerous though and clean-up is a real treat.GOOD leather gloves ,safety glasses long sleeved shirt,a bucket and either thick cardboard or rag to cover the glass when you break it.

The glass nuggets I use look kind of like a slightly squashed marbles. I think they are usually used to fill bowls and vases.
