Hi Julie, that certainly is beautiful material. Taking a look at your first photos, I notice some areas where the rock looks "eaten away". That seems to me to be where the rock was a little softer and "undercut" creating pits. When you run these again, grit will most likely work into those pits and make them bigger. On rare occasion they will smooth out, but normally they would need to be taken back to the saw and shaved off. Your cabs would need to be reshaped and go for another try in the vibe. When the pits show up in rounded tumbles (not preshaped cabs), this is what Connrock talks about when he says they should be rebroken or that part cut out (when he was talking about the rock that had what he called a cavern). You might also try filling the holes with super glue, but I haven't tried this yet myself. You're doing great. Good luck! Looks like it's gonna be a good batch.

Julie, that looks like the same vibe as I have - a Covington "Barry's Blue". If so, in these pictures, I'd say it's less than 1/2 full. I've been getting the best action by filling all the way to the top of the "island" in the middle.
I have a bunch of stuff that gets shiny but has lots of little "pits" that won't polish or grind out. I'm going to experiment with filling the holes with super glue and repolishing, and see if that works at all. If it does, then that will be my future "fix" of choice, for sure.
Just my :2cents: , YMMV!
As always, Tom
