Hello everyone, and thanks again for the nice feedback and warm welcome. Here is the rest of the stones from the Blue Lace/Garnet/Bloodstone tumble. I had to keep adding stones to keep the level at 5/8 during the rough grind, so the final yield was well over 10 lbs. I believe thats something that is not stressed enough as one gets into tumbling - that to do it right, you need to ensure you start with lots of extra rough rocks of equal hardness to the initial batch. Otherwise, the final result will include cracks and a lesser shine. Here goes... Lace Agate Crazy Lace Rose Quartz Jockeys Agate Brown Moss Agate Fire Agate (without the fire!) Green Tree Agate (Always has minute pits - a difficult tumble) Unknown Jasper "Agate ate a garnet" Cue the Jaws theme music... Have a great day, Jim

That is a fantastic tumble! My crazy laces always want to undercut and you have a whole plate of beauties there! The rose quartz turned out great! You are right about starting with enough rock. It is not enough to have a full barrel to begin with. You need more than that because of the mass that is lost during the tumbles. Fran

Total eye candy, Jim. Great job on these. Thanks for pointing out that important thing to remember. Have lots of extra rough of equal hardness to ensure proper bowl levels. WTG! Jo
