I pulled the labradorite today. The rock is shaping nicely but a little slower than the previous week. The surface of the stones felt a mite roughish kind of like last week. The slurry still felt gritty but finer, like a 200-300 so I left it alone and put the stones back in to tumble another week. Patience, patience. Dry: Wet: I had a mix of agate and jasper polishing in the other barrel and pulled them out. You can see the polish is still a bit hazy so I will put them back in for another week. That's all folks.

Which grit have those labs been in for 3 weeks now? I'm running a small batch in my 1.5lb Lortone - I did a week of 46/70, a week of 60/90, and now they're on 220 grit. I'll probly do a couple weeks of 220 before I go to 500 grit with some hand lotion or sofsoap. Yours are actually looking pretty good, if they're still in the coarse grit.

TK3:I added 60/90 for the second time last week. Still running with the same slurry for 3 weeks now. The slurry feels like it still has some action going so I'm sticking with it. At this stage it's all about gently shaping. Is the surface of your stones approaching glossiness yet?

Well, no, I wouldn't call it glossy - but in general, the edges are rounded and the sharpness is gone, they are still a bit "chalky" looking when dry. I got them shiney before, but they got all chipped up because I had them in with other stuff. Now I'm doing over with nothing else but ceramic and plastic filler.
