Hi, my name is James and I am from Wisconsin. I am a fine arts student at UW Stout and have just begun an interesting journey into lapidary and jewelry making. Although Wisconsin has a "geologically boring" reputation, I have found some great stuff on my family's cranberry marshes. We are often excavating! So anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say that I am happy to be a part of the forum and am looking forward to learning all about tumbling and lapidary. There is an awesome rock shop in Wisconsin called Bernie's Rock Shop, but other than that it is hard for me to find any decent amounts of rough for a fair price so if any of you know where I can search for or buy any good rough, please let me know and thank you so much. Happy Tumbling! James Bible II

Hey, James, welcome to the addiction! I've been getting the vast majority of my tumbling rough from The Rock Shop (therockshop.com). Shaun is the proprietor, and is really into customer satisfaction. U might give him a try.

I've received some great tumble rough from Shawn, mainly tigereye and blue jasper. You can also get some awesome stuff from riverbendlapidary and banjocreek, who are both also members on here.

Welcome James,
Take a trip up to the UP and the Keweenaw Peninsula. Plenty of spots up there. A web search should send you in the right direction.
