Rough does look good. I got some lavender jade from Turkey form Richardson's and paid $10/lb. At 2.2lb/kg, this stuff is cheaper even with the shipping.
The shipping delay is unattractive, but ...

The delay doesn't bother me at all. I just like knowing what I have. Is it really jade, or is it a pretty purple rock with maybe some jadeite in it? In the end, I guess I'd have a pretty purple rock at least.

I think the purple jade from Turkey is actually a quartz/jadeite mix but it is attractive material. I got some slabs a while back for about $10 each. Haven't got them past the preform stage yet but the material is good and tough and it looks like it will work up real nice. I looked at the listings you've pointed out too but am kinda nervous about buying rocks I can't have in hand from new foks. His appears to be brighter in color than what I have so maybe it's real nice. Price sure is right if he's an honest seller.....Mel
