It has taken quite a while to get a load finished. First, I was working things through the tumblers to shape, then went to the Raytech TV5 vibe....then it died suddenly. I couldn't resist ordering a Thumler UV 10. The only problem is getting enough rock to fill the barrel. I finally finished a load today. Here are some quick pictures that I took outside. I have some cabs and preforms in here to and I will show them later in a different thread. Thanks for looking! Fran OK, I am adding a few more pics. My husband bought me a new camera and I am trying it out. Of course, I can make things blurry with this one too... I tried to get everything to lay out on a hand towel and it just didn't make it All of these were from Michael John. The brecciated looked like it would break all apart and even though it has some weak spots, it held up well. One little rock I got from MJ had such a beautiful surprise inside! It almost has a 3D effect when you move this one Jasper veriety Odds and ends More odds and ends Hmmm, I think I will do the preforms and cabs in different threads.

IMO, the UV-10 is the world's greatest tumbler, and that's a beautiful batch of rocks!!

Oh Fran, they're just gorgeous! What is the one top dead center of the pile in the first two pics? Black and orangey looking.

I think that orangy one with the black stuff is pretty neat, also. No clue what it might be called.
Fran, you got one heckuva shine on that batch! Congratulations. I'm STILL trying to get SOMETHING - ANYTHING! to come out looking liquid like that. It's a tad frustrating, but hey - it keeps me off the streets at night! LOL!

That black and orange one is a brecciated jasper. Only a few had that color and that is a redo. It was really chipped up before so it came out great this time. I realized that you can't see even half of the rocks so I am going to post a few more pics here in just a minute.

Randy, it was because of seeing the vibe in action at your place that I knew that would be the one to get! I was never happy with the results in the one I had and this is a big difference. Just takes a lot of effort to fill up that bowl! You are right Karen, trying to figure out what to do with them all is the next hurdle. I think I want to get a lot of slab pieces cut of some hard stuff and get them all done. Maybe make up some serving trays/tables with them for gifts. Just a thought. This batch has a lot that would be good in jars or for candle holders, etc. Some preforms that are just too pretty may be cabbed and others are ready to be wrapped. Fran

They all look great! It's a tribute when you get such uniformly polished stones from a batch with so much variety.

Awsome batch. Can't believe how smooth you got them. I can't get them that smooth from my rotory.

Awesome is all I can say. I have been thinking of the UV-10 however I, like you, would probably have troubles filling it enough to run a batch. I've been leaning more toward the UV-3 instead. After my wife and I get back from our trip down to Sprinfield and Tulsa (or near it) I'll know more of what size to get. Thanks for posting such beauties!
