Hello everyone,
Ina and me went today on Danube, for a rockhounding trip. It's not the first time when I post pics from this place so the scenery might seem familiar to some of you.
But some of the finds were really one of a kind, at least for me. And being pet wood they mean even more to me
Here are the pics. Firstly the spot (the bank of Danube River):
We firstly found some pet woods, nice but rather what we expected at in the area:
We gathered quite a lot of them...
...and we left them on that rock to ease my backpack until the way back.
Then we went further.
Notice I forgot my sun hat so I had to improvise one from my undershirt. This is a very valuable and multi-purpose piece of clothing for me, as you will notice a bit further. ;D
And then, I found the piece of the day... well, I'd rather say the piece of the year! A sort of giant fossilized fruit, the first thing I thought to compare to was a huge pineapple. The joy was beyond words:
Could that be a cycad? Any ID very welcome. Until then, I will name it "The Huge Pineapple"
The whole batch of pet woods and The Huge Pineapple couldn't fit in my backpack, so I had to quit wearing my original sun-hat and transform it into a bag:
And, as these finds weren't enough, on the return way we found another great piece, a piece of a tree trunk with an emerging branch from it. Maybe we didn't catch the best pics but the piece is really unique:
We arrived at the car, where a dog was waiting us for feeding him. Even the dog was special today: notice the "haircut". We named him Rasta Dog
He ate a whole pack of biscuits, like nothing.
It was a pleasant sunny autumn day, which we enjoyed a lot!
I hope you also enjoyed a bit the photos.
Thank you for looking,
Adrian
