I don't think flesh fossilizes, just bone. Just an uneducated guess, but I'd say no.

My "pretend" guess would be - somebody lopped off the index finger of the giant in "Jack and the Beanstalk"!
My for real guess would be - maybe a well-defined dino feces? Looks like it'll be pretty when cut open, for sure.

Maybe it's a big limb cast.

Either way, cut it, and show us the inside...

It's a giant fossilized shrimp tail. Can't wait to see some slices. Looks like a really nice find already.

I am afraid to cut until I find out what it is. It looks to detailed not to be something.

Darryl may have something there. Giant shrimp tail, or perhaps lobster tail.

I went to a museum not too long ago, It's very rare but flesh CAN fossilize. They found some flesh on one dino, did some DNA testing and they were able to determine the color and skin texture of that particular Dino.
The flesh I saw was part of the back attached to the spine. Looked sort of like leather (but in rock form). I'll take a look and see if I took a picture of it

maybe it's a piece of log (poop) no picture of the skin. sorry. Tweety, if you go to the nature museum, maybe you can take a pic of the skeleton with the skin. I don't see going back there any time soon.

I wouldn't cut it, it is too cool the way it is and even if it turns out to be rock and not a fosil, you probably are never going to find one like that again, plus you have tons of other rocks in your yard that you can cut. lol.

I am going to slice of the largest end...........just enough to clearly expose what might be inside. Picture 7 is the end I am going to cut. I will post pics when done!!
