Every now and then, for my own mental health, I work on a couple projects that are for me or my SO instead of producing something to sell.
The first one is an old clock I picked up at the local rock club auction. Before your eyes bulge out and say, "That's he biggest Biggs Jasper slab I've ever seen!", I'll warn you and tell you that it's some sort of figured sandstone that has been coated with some sort of lacquer or clear sealant. It had some crappy numbers glued on it with some of them missing. I replaced them with obsidian cabs. I also bought some new hands for the clock.
The next is a piece of Petrified Wood that was collected by a friend and brought to me for slabbing giving me a share of what I cut. This piece looks to be the fork of two branches. I cut it and polished the top side. I was going to mount a pen and pencil set on it but changed my mind and decided to leave it as a display piece.
