Here are a few pictures of the obsidian I found last weekend. All of it. Rainbow Side view of same piece Gold Sheen Pumpkin I also got some silver sheen and some that is slightly blue green.

OMG. I have been trying to find rainbow, bought a piece of gold sheen in Denver. After looking at yours, I wonder.... And pumpkin; that's a new one. And you can just go pick it up, LOL. Thanks so much for your pix!

Forgive me for asking..... you know the proper orientation of slabbing the rainbow to get the effect? Cut parallel to the banding or a little off of parallel.

Cut ten to fifteen degrees off the band for best effect. If, of course the band is on a flat plane. Should it be curved, you will have to play with it. Woody
