Since I have my day of barrel checks and finished batches, I am now working on the following:
The final polish for my little barrels of obsidian and labradorite. I think the obsidian will be very nice. I added back in the small piece of rainbow I had pulled from a long ago vibe batch. But .... I think I boobooed on the labradorite. I may not have cleaned the little cheap barrel enough between grit and pre polish and may have had some cross contamination. We'll see.
I am thinking though that since these poor little things (labradorite) were ruined by me to begin with in the vibe, I am hoping that they will be better.
I have now have three (s) new batches. Yipppeeee!
One (Lortone 3 lb) .... Chrysocolla ... I cannot wait to see these done as in their raw state, they are gorgeous.
Two (Lortone 3 lb) ... Pet/opalized wood and some lace agate pieces I have been waiting for a tough enough batch to add them to. I really do love the woods.
The vibe is now recharged with more 120/220 after 1 1/2 days. I am not going to make any statements yet as to its progress.
Tomorrow .... hopefully .... I will be slicing and slabbing some rock I have been holding since I got it from an RTHer very early on in my presence here.
I would really love to get some wire wrapping practice as well.
As always guys .... I rely on new and old to give me a input.

I thought chrysocolla was too soft to tumble. Gem silica is much harder and more stable - but probably comes with a hefty price tag. Be interested to see how the chrysocola comes out. I hope it turns out, it's a beautiful stone.

Chrysocolla can be tumbled. It is just a very persnickety rock.
I learned that early on ... so I am very hopeful with this batch.
