Did up this one today. Not really positive at what size a point changes from being a arrow to dart to a spear, but the next time I go buffalo hunting this one is going on a spear.   and a couple of arrowheads  |

very nice from what i understand what we call bird points would have been on the arrows the next size up atlatl darts then i guess spears and ceremonial

I have been told by someone who's information I trust, that the "bird points" as we call them were actually made as a sacrificial point. From what this guy said, the Indians believed that when you killed an animal, you must leave a perfect point as a token sacrifice to the gods.
Just one person's opinion......

Beautiful work by the way. I know how hard it is to get that flake to fun clear across like that. Tried to pic a fav & just couldn't do it. All 3 are outstanding.
