I just started my rock tumbler (rotary) 15 pound or 1 gallon size round barrel. I've noticed the barrel moves to the end of the rollers and slightly rubs on the frame while tumbling.
Also the motor is very warm to the touch not sure if this is normal.
Thanks for any advise!!

Lortones run hot to the touch, not sure about other makes.
There should be some kind of guide that keeps the barrel from rubbing on the frame. Again, I only know Lortones - there is a groove on the cover's nut that fits into the guide and eliminates lateral movement.

The motors do get very hot, this is normal. If you can, run it on a tiled or concrete surface to help with the cooling. Also make sure that nothing is sitting right up next to it, air should be able to move around it freely.

Make sure it is level. Motors run hot. What Randy said. Motors generally have small cooling fans that pull air through to cool. It helps to occasionally blow them out with an air compressor if in dusty location. Running on piece of carpet will deaden sound but the motor can pick up the fuzzies and obstruct air flow. If tumbler doesn't have guides to keep drum centered you can improvise them with nylon washers attached to frame at each end with screws. As the washers wear turn to new spot.

I know this sounds crazy but try RAISING the frame at 1 corner of the side that the barrel is rubbing on. Nothing drastic but try about 1/8" or less and then more if that doesn't work.
Try it first by just lifting it with you hands just to see i it works.

Another suggestion that works for a 6lb Thumbler.
Place a folded fluffy towel bewteen the tumbler and the surface. The fluffy towel smooths out any surface irregularities (keeps it level) -AND- has the added bonus of cutting down on the transfer of vibrations (reduces the noise). Make sure the fluffy towel does not interfere with air flow.
Another bonus of the fluffy towel ... if (when) you blow a lid, the towel will absorb the liquid component of the slurry and minimize how far the mud puddle spreads.

Good Morning!
I have a Lortone (twin 3 lb barrels) and Con and Randy are right ... it is just a matter of leveling it.
My Lortone has always run hot, but that is normal. Just make sure to NOT have anything around it as it needs constant airflow.
