Is Kansas City still a no go for good rock shops? Mapmuse still lists the following even though they have been debunked in a previous thread.
Ace's Gems and Minerals
Hutsell's (Blue Springs)
Amazing Rocks and Jewelry
As an aside, anything good between Kansas City and Des Moines, in Des Moines?

I am with you KSK I am so disappointed with not finding any rock shops around Kansas City. I guess that Ace's Rock Shop down in Westport was really a good place to buy/sell/trade and just talk about things. But as you know its no longer around. There are a couple of shows coming up. Joplin, Missouri 9/25, 9/26 and 9/27. Springfield, MO. 10/17 and 18th Topeka, KS - October 10 and 11th. Are you a member of any clubs around town?

Thanks for the reply.
I live in Minnesota and will only be on town this weekend. The Joplin show sounds interesting, but it's a bit too far to work into the schedule.

There is a halfway decent rock/science shop in riverside mo. I was thinking off getting a few pounds of rough rock from them if I ever became desparate enough. ATM I try to get luck with any finds I can get at local parks, river banks, or lakes.
