These performs were removed from Round 1 (120/220 SC) in my UV-10. They were in better shape going in, than coming out. Some of the softer material (black between the agate and jasper layers) is pitting, rather than polishing. I have heard some reference to “crack filling” with glue. Can someone enlighten me as to what kind of glue, when to use in the finishing process, how many applications, etc.? Any assistance is salvaging these would be greatly appreciated. Here are my pictures and my problem. Darryl.

I'm not dead sure on this but I think the crack fillers like Opticon, Hotstuff and super glue will probably not hold up under tumbling action. While they stay in place ( pretty much) on the sanding and polishing wheels, I think, since they are actually pretty soft, under the abrasion of tumbling grits, they'll just erode away and offer little if any help for your problem....Mel

Looks like you have some undercutting going on due to the black being softer than the rest of the stone. Problem is, the glue would be softer as well. Glue filling works when cabbing, but I don't think that it would work in a vibe tumbler. Someone else might know otherwise.

That's too bad Darryl - those would sure be some beauties if they didn't undercut!

Maybe these stones will only work well by caressing them on cabbing wheels. Karock
