Finish this batch up the other day and thought I would share a few photos. This batch is not the best. Some of this material has been in the 60/90 grit for a month. The material from the Woodard Ranch is a real challenge. The outer surface is very pitted and hard, while the interior seems to be a softer quartz. If the quartz is exposed it tends to fracture a lot. I decided that anymore runs in 60/90 was doing more damage than good, so I went to the next step. By the time I got to the prepolish stage I only had enough material to fill the barrel up half way. I used plastic pellets for the filler, but I notices that some of the stones showed signs of battering. maybe should have been a little more patient and waited until I had enough to have a full load. Interesting mix. I like the colors. If you're not happy with them, you can always re-do them.
