Heres my collection of granite and quartz and a couple petoskeys from Lake Michigan. I love hunting those beaches, so much color!

Looks like you got a nice shine on the petosky. Never tried it myself. Good job.

Nice shine on all of those. I've never seen "petosky" - which is it in your pictures?

The petoskey stones are the coral-like things in the upper right corner of the first picture.
I've heard they're very hard to polish---way to go!

"Thanks Toad. I cheated on the petoskeys though...finished em by hand! " Thants not cheating petoskey is so soft you have to finish them by hand. I don't know any other way. In fact I polish them completely by hand. Anytime I put them in a tumbler they disappear. Great Job. Its nice to see some of the native Michigan rocks.

It is really hard to get a good finish on granite and you did a great job! It is never cheating if they come out fantastic! You shaped the petoskeys really well and the hand polish on them really makes them stand out! Fran
