I just bought some from The Rock Shed. They were in the advertised size range, but 80% of them were on the small end of the scale. Raisin sized. They are OK for earrings, but you may be after something larger. Pay attention to the small end of the advertised size.
Darryl.

I bought some just a couple of weeks ago from Jamie (Dessertdweller) Her web site used to be mybluerocks but now I think it is arizonalapidary. I will have to look it up and add it. They were a really good price too! Here it is: www.arizonalapidaryandminerals.com/ Fran

orrrrrrr... come to the Burro Creek trip this coming up February! We collected some there very close to the campground and had a great time looking for them in the dark with flashlights. They were actually easy to see then! Check out the trips and shows section! I strongly recommend going if you possible can. It's loads of fun, apache tears and all. Steve

From W Virginia I think you probably will be best off buying from one of the suppliers mentioned above- if you find yourself out here west of the Rockies there are all kinds of places we can point you to go- from Washington down to Arizona where you can just wander out and collect bucketloads of them.

Yes, some people say they are even harder to do than obsidian - others don't seem to have much of a problem. Just remember to treat them with kid gloves and you should do fine.
