Usually when someone says well silicated or well silicified (don't know if either are words) they mean enough silica content to take a polish. Silicated dino bone would be agate/jasper replacement able to take a polish. I'm guessing they mean non-porous rhyolite able to take a polish.

Any lizzardskin that I have worked, and I have only had 2 pieces, has been kind of soft. Maybe in the 4 or 5 scale. Unless it seems harder, I don't think it will do well in a tumbler unless you use a gentle cycle and maybe do a dry polish at the end. Not sure, just thinking out loud. Fran
