Howdy folks, Just completed 15 cabs in the rotary tumbler ( 33B) and had used these tiny stones as the filler to make sure of plenty of surface to surface contact. Filled barrels 3/4 full of these and plastic pellets then added the cabs. All these nice shiny tiny tumbles ( about 4 pounds) are a very nice byproduct.....Mel

Perfect filler for the next batch of agate or hard jasper to be polished. And it comes with a reduced risk of scratching up the main pieces.

Let's hear it for the unsung heros of tumbling... grit carriers! Without them where would we be? Those ones sure are pretty! Do you save them aside or reuse them for the next batch? Steve

Steve: I set them aside just in case I don't have enough prepolished tinies to fill the bill for my next load......Mel

I call those worker stones. I keep a bunch in my rotary tumblers and every now and then I clean them out and put them through the vibes and finish them. The rule around my shop is if it doesn't fall though a colander tumble it.
I bag up a sell some of them at shows. I fill vases and lamps with some. Lots you can do with them. I also always have a dish or two of free stones at shows. That is a kid magnet and it slows the parents down to look at my stuff.
