Hi There, do you know what the orange/red stones are on picture 24? I picked up some exactly like that on the Yellowstone a few weeks ago, along with some Montana Moss Agate. That orange stuff is incredibly hard!! Much harder then the agates. I've got some in the polish stage now. After 4 weeks in 60-90 it looked pretty much the same except "slightly" rounded corners.

That reddish Montana is amazing! Everything on that table looks great and I sure can't decide what I like best! That flintridge, what is it? I don't think I have ever seen a flint like that so I am guessing it is a jasper (?). That should make some amazing cabs! Fran

OK, the Flint ridge is from Flint Ridge,Ohio. It's very popular with knappers and is great for cabbing and tumbling.I just made a cab with it and I would say it is about as hard as most Jaspers.
Spokanetim-If I counted the pics right the orange slabs are probably Fantasia jasper that came from a dealer in Utah,I might be wrong on this but that rock IS very hard so it might be the same stuff you found.
I had this thread on the computer at work and some non-rockhound friends thought the last pic of the backlit Montana was a condom!!I'm surprised Amber and Shannon didn't pick up on that.

Montana is the most beautiful of all the agates. Outstanding quality! Thanks for sharing.

We like the Montana agate, though all of the stone slabs are beautiful. Debby and Tom

Thanks Mudshark, Here's a pic of the stuff I found s996.photobucket.com/albums/af90/SpokaneTim/?action=view¤t=Rocks046.jpgSorry, don't know how to post it onto the site directly. Looks fairly like your stuff but not like the pic's I saw when I Google'ed Fantasia Jasper pics. I was back in Billings for the past couple days and picked up 30 lb's of pet wood, blue agate, and a bit of Montana moss. The Yellowstone River is a treasure trove of sweet rocks.
