A friend in CA sent a small chunk of quartz to me when I asked her to send cool CA rocks, lol. Anyway, is this Rutilated? It was hard to get a good crisp picture. Thanks in advance

Just looks like a rock with fractures to me. I'd say no, but can't tell you what it is either. Shows what I know.

Just looks like bull quartz to me. I see tons of that stuff up in the desert but I have never picked any up. Rulitated quartz has solid black or gold "needles" included in it and most of the stuff you see on the market is from terminated crystals that are very tansparent, not massive like that peice. Sorry rain on your parade, but if you want some cool CA rocks you could always have me send you a FRB full .
