In my area we do not have any lapidary or rock shops, Florida only has a few stones, mostly Florida rock. I know I can order them online but I also know they have to be a common item. I was thinking bean bag filler, but what do the other frugal people on here use?
Thanks, Brian

Plastic pellets are re-useable, just keep track of what grit they were used in... I bought the cheapest I could find, years ago. Later, jeri

Yup, Michaels. They are used as doll stuffing. I tried those little plastic tubes kids arrange into shapes and bake (also in Michaels), but they got kinda funky after a while. I've considered trying walnut shells from a tree and breaking them up, but haven't actually tried that. Steve

I use plastic tile spacers, they are cheap, durable and you can get them at any hardware store...

Try to get the ones that float, much easier to separate from the rocks.
