Well I got my box of leather from Julie yesterday. Great stuff. I can hardly wait to see what all I can make from it. This should give me something to do on those cold Illinois winter months. Thank you so much Julie for making this available to us.

Just received four (4) boxes of Leather from Julie ! I think I will have enough to make just about every kind of knapping apparatus and protective pad device known to the knapping world !
And enough left over to make a pair of those FUNKY CHAPS !!!
WHOOO-HOOO !!!

Well, if either of you come up with a no-sew way to make a pair of moccasins, please post it! My slippers are wearing out! LOL.

I just recived 2 boxes from Julie, Very nice leather. Also very nice of her to offer it to Us for the cost of shipping. I started making a Knife sheath with some of it today.
Thanks Julie Mike

Super-glue gel might work for the slippers !

Just saw a Super Glue just for leather on the shelf yesterday but didn't get it. Hmmm, do you think it will hold up? Maybe I'll try it next week and report back.

I am going to the hardware store this afternoon and check if Ace handles it.
Might have me a pair of those a$$le$$ chaps YET ! The HOT pink doesn't work for me but, a mixture of earth shades will better highlight my SKIN tones !

While this is quality leather, I would not use it for mocs. In the past I have done some Revolutionary War re-enacting. And have leather mocs that are hand sewn. They are typically made out of thicker leather. I believe mine is either elk or buffalo hide can't remember for sure which. But even then they tend to wear out quickly. Guess that is why shoes took over. And I would also doubt that glue would hold. Too much stress is but on the seems I think. Just my two cents.

I got my box a little while back and I didn't see this thread. Julie did a great job stuffing the box. I wasn't concerned about color but I jokingly mentioned my 7 year old daughter is nuts for pink. I was shocked you came up with a piece that was pink. She loved the piece and has claimed it. Now I don't know what we are going to make out of it for her but she says it her's.
Thanks Tom

Julie's leather is lovely! So nice and soft!
I have used it to cover the inside of those tins that are so abundant at Christmas. Am making "treasure boxes" out of them, although I haven't gotten any finished yet. Am going to do a slab mosiac on some of them.
Julie, I'd like to add my name to the list you will be sending out after the first of the year!
