Northshorerocks was here again yesterday, and we did a little huntin'....fer rocks that is. We found a few....all photos are of wet rock Nice hunka hunka light green maryellen, and a smaller one Somethin cool lookin' Nice quality jaspelite Nice jasper couple yellow/brown jasper/jaspelite A perplexing rock...has the look and feel of agate, this green looks as tho it goes completely through the rock, the matrix is a hard iron type formation. This is after scrubbing it w/ a brush, if you have any ideas, I would be grateful Another jasper Again, look and feel of agate, waxy appearance and all, this stuff is cool, see the druzy/crystal pocket in there? This monstrosity is heavy as all get out. I brought it home, because it roused a "holy moly" outta Steve. What is it? Has some look of agate, and quartz areas in it Just too cool to leave there We found a few more agates as well, so it was a very productive huntin' day! Steve is such a nice person, and I am so excited to actually know what I am lookin' at......most of the time!! Thanks for lookin' Marie

The green one could very well be agate; the green color could have come from either copper or nickel (or both).
Call me partisan, but I love the Minnesota rocks. Nice finds!

Chuck, so you think it could be some agate in that green one? That would be kinda cool! I have found green fortified agate out here, usually under 2 inches in size, and most of the time they have a yellow outer shell on them....Last time Steve was here I also found an agate still in the matrix, I wouldn't know that, except he told me that's what it was. (Thank goodness for Steve!!) There is quite a bit of green rock out here as well. I just really wanna know what this is!! I will be cutting soon, not sure how soon, but soon. Thanks everyone! Marie

Thanks Mel, I appreciate your input. I am thinking about cleaning a section of that green rock with the dremel, to see what all is happening inside there.....not sure yet what I will do with it. At the very least, it should be some really good hard material to work with. Marie
