The injuries I sustained last spring have kept me from doing much cabbing, going in for shoulder surgery in a couple of weeks which I hope will have me back at the wheels next spring, in the mean time I have managed a couple of nice tumble runs; This is a mix of stuff that's been sitting around a while; here's the latest batch of Madison Blues; and finally- this might not seem a big deal to some, but if you've tried polishing wonderstone as much as I have you should appreciate this- I actually got a batch of Fallon NV wonderstone to come out really shiny!; That's all for now

I have tried to tumble Wonderstone and could never get better than matte finish. Killer shine on that stuff. Best wishes on the shoulder.

Sweet batch! Amazing shine on the wonderstone and the Madison Blue wow! I'm sure you've told us before but I can't remember. Where does Madison Blue originate?......Mel The primary occurrence is on Ted Turner's Flying D Ranch in southwest Montana, this was collected just outside his property line on a ridgeline above the Madison River. I have tried to tumble Wonderstone and could never get better than matte finish. Killer shine on that stuff. Best wishes on the shoulder. Thanks, it took every trick I could come up with- After the usual 5 step process (coarse-220-500-1000-AlOx polish) still had them looking semi-gloss at best I tried a week in Cerium oxide which helped but still didn't quite deliver a shine so I followed up with another week and a half in Tin Oxide- that seemed to do the trick, too bad Tin Oxide is so silly expensive.

What awesome stones!!!!
What are Madison Blues? They are so pretty!!!
As for the Wonderstones .... I have tumbled two or three batches and have never come anywhere near that shine!!!
I may have to dig all my up and throw them back into the tumbler. Are you using a rotary for them?
As always Julie

Great shne on those wonderstones and that's really saying something. Sounds like the extra two rounds of polish really made a difference, that and tin Ox. Those maddison blues are really cool. Never seen those before. Sweet looking batch all around. Steve
