My father-in-law is yearning for a trip to Colorado to hunt aquamarine. I started pulling up on line info, but this does not look like a safe search, or an easy time to find the aquamarine. Are there any fee mines there, without the trip to the top of the mountain, ???which sounds like a place you might get shot, or go over the side.

you could call the "rock doc" just south of buena vista and talk to them --- they have some pieces in their shop and I think they have some guided trips that you can go on

I found some in the Platte river several years back. It's hit or miss, but check out all the gravel bars.

Go to www.dirtyrockhounds.proboards.com and PM dickytherockhunter. He has a claim upon Mt. Antero called the "blue wall". He gets aquamarine from there and he can tell you all about the area. He lives at Green Mtn. Falls. Super guy. Ken
