First I want to thank you all for you kind words and support! The $500.00 entry fee IS a joke to try to keep the rest of you out of next years competition!!! ;D
As some of you know I have a ton of tumblers and didn't know what to do with the one I won.It was a Lortone 33-B,a great tumbler but I just didn't need it.
Well I solved my problem!
On another site I belong to there's a guy who is in the military in Afghanistan who has recently found an interest in tumbling.Right now he's using a Gator Aid bottle to tumble so I thought,,,,what the heck!!
I sent him the tumbler and all he needs to get "rolling" as a Christmas Gift and mostly for a Thank You for serving in the military!
Yeah,,,I could have sold it but I would only get money for it,,,,This way I got a little joy out of trying to help someone far away from home on a special Holiday like Christmas!
I'm going to try to get him to join us here so it will be easier for him to learn to tumble!!

Way to go...as if the guy doesn't have enough problems already....now if an IED goes off, he keeps his head UP looking for prime lapis or onyx to tumble...just kidding Lee

Very cool! We had a guy on here some time ago that was serving in Afghanistan. He went by "infantry41" I think.

Our military personnel deserve all the support they can get. What a great way to show you care.

I've been in that part of the world and he shouldn't have any shortage of material--rocks and sand, sand and rocks--and those are the high points of the scenery! Looks like someone moves up a notch on the nice list.
From the amount of rock I see coming from Afghanistan the poor guy needs a cement mixer.
Either way, it was a heck of a nice thing to do and I am sure with the amount of rough available to him, he will have a blast. I can see the whole squad hovering around the tumbler to see what the freshly tumbled batch looks like.

Great idea you had there ! I am sure there will be more than one guy that's going to be entertained by the tumbler. Creating beauty in the midst of the confusion and the destruction going on there will be a welcome escape for him and his buddies !

What i did was nothing,,,,What Anthony and our Military is doing is what really counts,,,,
Anthony tried to join the group but for some reason the Government has blocked our web site from the guys and gals in Afghanistan.
Bummer,,,,
