Just filled it up after not running it for about week & half. Started to fill up my two 3 lb barrels, looked over and the thumlers was not running. Took the barrel off, started running again, put the barrel on, stopped again. What's going on? It seems the rod the motor is attached to is not moving as free as it should.

Try cleaning the shaft bearings and oiling. Also check belt tension.

Thanks, I had already oiled, that's what the problem was. Cleaned the belt & other related parts off with some alcohol working fine now, thank God! Now I can go to bed & let my tumblers sing me to sleep! LOL!

Order a spare belt and always have one on hand. You don't want a $3 replacement part to come between you and rock tumbling.
Oil from the tumbler bearings, oil from your hands, ozone and UV all deteriorate the rubber over time. If your running your tumbler 24/7, you should probably replce the belt annually just for the heck of it.

Thank you, Darryl. It actually is a fairly new belt! Couple of months old! I think I am going to replace the drive & idler shafts because the rubber is looking kind of worn and one of the retaining rings won't keep the stop in place. Besides that it's getting kind of rusty.
