I went to this show today. It wasn't huge, but there was a nice assortment of things for sale, and a small display the club had up. I picked up a few slabs, and a really nice piece of Lightening Ridge Opal. First slab is ruby in fuchsite - about 6" x 2 1/4" Next is a smallish piece of morgan hill poppy jasper - about 2" x 3" Don't know if I'll ever cab this, but I liked the pattern in it so I bought it to keep as a specimen if nothing else. Lastly is the piece of Lightening Ridge Opal. This piece is 3/4" long, 3/8" wide, and about 1/8" thick. It was $5.00/gram, and weighed in at an even gram lol. I'm going to work this piece by hand to clean off the matrix, and hopefully not kill it. I plan on making my wife a pendant with it. Thanks for looking, Nate

Can't beat that Ruby in Fuschite. I scrounged a little sliver out of Randy's rock pile and made a nice looking cab out of it. You caught some opalescence in that opal too. Nice finds! Hope your gonna show us how that opal works up.

I figure there's a few good cabs in the ruby in fuchsite. Worth a try. I'll definitely show off the opal. I'm thinking i'm just going to clean it up and round the edges a little. If it turns out nice enough, maybe I'll cut it in 2...
