I see glass blocks for sale with designs etched into the sides. Just wondering if anyone has seen slabs incorporated onto these, possibly put a light in it. The blocks of glass I've seen are the ones used to block in bathroom windows. I think they are about 8 by 12 inches. Just wanted to ask before I bought a box of them. Come on ideas out there. snuffy

I've never seen one done like you describe but it would be pretty. Do one.

I would probably have to buy a case of them,a lot of money to not be sure of what I'm doing with them.

I don't know about down your way but up this way Habitat for Humanity runs what they call Re-store, where donated building materials (usually used) are for sale. I often see glass blocks there. If you've got something similar down your way you might be able to pick up a couple of blocks relatively cheap to work with. Just a thought FWIW

Well, found a glass block at Lowes a little over 5 bucks. Bought a three quarter inch diamond holesaw, and stuffed a string of clear Christmas lights through the hole, taped some Brazilian agate slabs on it to see how it would look. Gonna be a nice lamp or whatever you want to call it sitting next to my computer. These are 8in by 8in blocks snuffy

What would be the best glue to use with stone to glass?

Probably any clear 2 part epoxy would work well to hold the slabs to the glass. You may want to rough the glass and slab surface a little to give the glue something to grab on to. great idea, it looks really nice!
