Both of these i'm not positive. The black is supposed to be black jade from arizona and the secon luna agate? Anyone know for sure. I thought the black will look great on the doublets. ty mary ann OK i'm done.....

I think that a lot of the material referred to as "Black Jade" from Arizona is more likely to be gem grade ferro hornblende. Not sure on the other one. Bob

The first does not look like Luna Agate out of Mexico. There is a Luna Agate out of western New Mexico but what I've seen of that is fortification or banded material in shades of white, gray and light blue without the black, tubes, or inclusions along the edge. I can't quite peg the tube agate you've posted but it does have the look of northern Mexico or west Texas stuff. I'd heard the Arizona material was not jade too but I'd have to check that one in Sinkankas' books....Mel

I am with Mel that the first does not look like typical mexican Luna agate, maybe he will figure it out.

I'd guess hornblende on the jade as well....but it can give you some nice results working with it...
