I finished up a single barrel today. All my other barrels are twixt coarse and pre-polish. The bulk of this barrel was chevron amethyst for my grand-daughters and I added a few pieces to help keep the tumble churning. This is an agate I've come across kinda often in the pet wood found in the Nueces river gravels. It seems to fill voids in the wood? Railroad track jaspers: Unknown jaspers from Ebay. An agate nodule I sliced. Unknown, probably Mexican. Parrot wing. It lost about 30% and the shine has hazy areas due to differing hardness zones. I've been curious whether that big chunk of Succor creek I cut up would take a polish. It will. A slice of Brazilian agate nodule I picked up in Wimberley, Texas. Chevron amethyst for my grand babies, 12 and 8. Stay warm ya'll. It's down to 63 F down here.

Beautiful stones Carlo and a great variety too. I know the grandchilden will love what you made for them. Do they like to go hunt for rocks too?
37 degrees in Kansas City and getting down to 26 tonight, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, I guess I am going to have to get my red union suit out:)

I had one of them suits once. I never could get out of it fast enough.
They keep an eye out for interesting rocks but don't hunt just for rocks. They sure don't mind placing orders with me though, and guess who gets first pick when the tumbler is opened?
