As some of you know I tumbled rocks for years in a rotary tumbler and in the past couple of years I started using a Lot-o-Tumbler to finish my rocks. What I haven't been able to find is any maintenance instructions for the Vib tumbler. Should I oil it? Where should I add the oil? Is it bad to oil i? The mechanical designer in me wants to oil it to keep things going good but I want to make sure I'm not doing something stupid before I do this.
As always I welcome your opinions thoughts and experiences.
Thanks Tom

Not sure about the newer ones, my lot-o is pretty old...it has two small holes on either side of the motor for oil...I just put a few drops in each time use it.

I just went out and looked at mine I don't see any place to oil the thing. Mine is about 4 years old now and has done a couple of 5 gallon bucketts worth of rock. I have never oiled anything, I did spray electrical cleaner on the motor a couple of years back, when I spilled rock snot all over everything.

They don't have any maintenance as far as I know and I've been running mine for 12-15 years now. The motors have sealed bearings and need NO oil.
The only thing I do once in a while is to check to see that none of the nuts and bolts have loosened.
It's a VERY well designed piece of equipment.
For what it's worth the frame has a lifetime guarantee too.
If it breaks give you a brand new one.
