I received this rock on the rear floorboards of a '79 Jeep CJ-7 I bought and had shipped from Pennsylvania to Florida. Any idea on what it is?

Hi Number, Can you give us an idea how hard it is? Does a knife scratch it? Can you do a scratch test with some quartz? Can you take a pic of the other side? All this might help us figure it out a little more. Jo

if it's harder, it's probably limestone or dolomite

Ok, here is the bottom of the rock. I also cracked off a corner of it with a hammer and chisel. It took some hard whackin with the 2lb sledge to get it to crack. I can tell this rock is a bit porous. It absorbed some of the color of the dirt it was sitting in. I also scratched it with a knife. That should mean it is softer than MOH 5.5. Also tried a penny which indicates it is harder than MOH 3. Don't know if it will make a nice sphere but I will find out at some future date.
