I picked up these two in the mountains on a exit from I-75. Cannot remember if I picked them up in Kentucky or Tennessee. It was fallen rock from one of the cuts they made through the mountain. They were picked up from an exit as they have put a black tar substance on the actual highway cuts. Thats a shame they did that, it was quite scenic driving I-75 before they did that.

Looks like sandstone to me. Just my opinion. They spray the tar on the cuts to hold the grass and lespedezer seeds there so the birds don't get it all. Ken
