These started as a small Lortone 1.5-lb barrel of Marie's small "lakers" - agates from Lake Superior. Then as time went on, and their volume went down, and other batches finished, I finally reached the point where I only had one 3-lb barrel going in the Thumler's AR-2 and one 1.5-lb barrel going in the Lortone 3-holer. My Thumler's refuses to cooperate with only one barrel, so I scratched my head, then decided to combine the lakers, a handful of leftovers from the trim saw, and fill it out with previously-tumbled beach rocks and some ceramics, to make the 2nd Thumler's barrelful. I first started the little lakers on 11/7/09, so it's only been, what? - 5 or 6 weeks? Seems like forever! Anyway, here's the results, and to say the least, I'm really pleased with them! First, ALL of this was in the 3-lb Thumler's barrel: Clockwise from top left: "hard" (higher Moh's) beach rocks, WF leftovers, Marie's little lakers, "soft" beach rocks, and ceramic filler. Here's a bit more closeup of the little lakers: And here's some lakers really closeup, just for Marie: Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed them! Tom

I just now added a better pic to the first post - the one I used to start with was not the better picture.

I'm surprised you were able to get any kind of shine on lakers in that short of time. Mine would still be in rough grind - but you got some nice shine.
