Howdy folks, Well, just emptied my first load from my new UV-10. Man that load is huge! That dang tumbler was barely full enough yet it took every prepolished stone I had accumulated for more than a month. Wow! Thanks to all of you who recommended this tumbler! Very cool machine.
I had to redo my 33B loads to change them all over to prepolish so I can start refilling that huge dadgum tub. It seems to have done a real fine job but I ran the rocks twice as long as suggested ( 7 days in Rockshed AO). I'd give this rig very high marks as it's appears sturdy and is moderately quiet but boy it's gonna be hard to keep it fed. I can't even imagine how hard it would be to feed a UV-18! Now I have this dream of two more UV-10's, one for fine grind and one for prepolish. I'm just never satisfied *L*.I'll take a pick of the monster batch when I get time tomorrow....Mel

Mel - Not sure if you have a second bowl for the polish. If not, you should. You can never get all the grit off the inside of the lid, especially when you run full loads and they bounce off the inside lid. Like barrels, label them and keep them separate.
I share your problem in not being able to feed the hungry beast. My A-R2 can't keep up. I'm looking for a second rotary. Maybe in the 12 lb size.
Have fun feeding the hungry pig.
Darryl.

Darryl; I use dedicated tumblers or barrels for each stage. Only time I ever change over is maybe to use a polish barrels for prepolish after a thorough cleaning of a coarse grind for fine grind after a good cleaning. The new rig is gonna be strictly a polish monster....Mel
