Dug up in my yard during a gardening project. Still a virgin at this stuff so identifying is kind of a PITA right now. At first I thought this stone had a peachy or maybe salmon pinkish tint to it, but I believe that was due to the red clay that it came out of. Again, this was dug up here in Mooresville, NC, 18 miles north of Charlotte, 33 miles north of the SC border on I-77.

Couldn't wait for tomorrow, had to go pull out the trim saw and take a look at these. The geode, number 5, I'm going to cut one end across the short side at an angle, polish that just a bit to put felt on it as it's standing base, then polish the face. Should turn out nice. On this rock, and number 4, I trimmed off a piece to see how solid and stable it was. Looks like I might be able to get a couple good cabs out of this one and maybe one out of number 4. Depends on how it holds up when I slab it. Here's my test cut, across the grain to look at it's stability... Super macro on the knob, it's just shy of 4" across, and about 5" long going with the grain, so should be plenty to pull a couple of decent slabs for cabs?!?

I have found very similar rock along the Bay of Fundy. It will work nicely for cabs and preforms. The quartz will finish with a "moonstone like" lustre, except you have a slight blush of orange through the piece. Market it as "Oange Blush Agate" and sell to passisng tourists. Works up here.
