Hi everyone! I was a rock tumbler junkie when I was a kid, but fell out of the hobby during college. Well, the same guy who gave me my tumbler (my favorite rock hound, my Dad) gave my 9 yo daughter an Elenco/Discovery Planet Tumbler for Xmas and now I'm hooked again. So, here I am!
I'm starting a larger home build tumbler this weekend using parts from an old kid's bike, a large electric fan motor, and some left over PVC pipe from a plumbing project I just did. hopefully the gear ratio on the bike will be enough to get the torque from the fan motor high enough to turn 3 or 4 lbs. Cross my fingers.
Anyway, here's a big hello from an excited newbie on the frozen great plains!

Welcome to the board fetters. If you have any questions, just ask and someone on here will know. Donna(damammy) and I are in sw Mo. And akansan (Rhonda) is somewhere near you. Ken

Howdy! There are a few of us Kansans around. I'm down the road from you (I-35, that is). Let me know if you need anything to get started!

Welcome. Sure sounds like you know the tumblers, I am not sure I could build one (that would work) so I may have to ask you questions. Ed
