To all my old friends here Happy New Year!!! Well Alabaster won't work well in the tumbler. But it has turned into something rather big for me. What started for me as a small hobby collecting rocks for tumbling has turned into a small stone business with 480 acres of mining claims. The process is hard. The Alabaster must be dug from deep under the surface. The good colors are always up higher on the hill. The Alabaster is sold to stone carvers and lathe turners. After a long day of digging the truck has 1000 to 1500 pounds of Alabaster.

Looks like very hard work, but must be worth the effort! Looks like a very rewarding job.
Do you have any pictures of the artists work that buy your Alabaster?

Stone carvers are amazing artists. Alabaster was made into vases and found in the tombs of the great Kings in Egypt. I love the way it looks in lamps. Just goes to show that even earliest man picked up a rock and said.. wow this looks interesting:)
