Yep, Connrock took us all along through a wonderful series of detailed progressive posts. Showing and explaining each step of the way with great narration and photos. His attention to detail is second to none. Then... he donated his prize to a most worthy cause!!! It was awesome!
I know I learned a great deal from his journey.

I loved his threads also and it was a great journey to finish that very stubborn batch of less than good material to perfection or as close as it could get! He really did a fantastic job and deserves to be mentioned in that article. Congratulations Conrock and thank you Ken for letting us know he was mentioned there! Fran

I don't know what info the article included but I hope they (the magazine writer/s) had a chance to view the thread he posted while working that batch.
Tom, I'm glad you got published/public recognition for all your hard work.

Well,,,,what can I say??? One thing for sure is a big thank you to Amber for letting me know about this thread!! I don't go to may sections other then the tumbling section which I visit daily to try to "spread the word' about tumbling and the how to's and how not to's! LOL
R&G was one of many magazine subscriptions I quit when I retired so I didn't see the article.
Of course I'm honored to have my name mentioned in such a popular magazine and have to thank the people who ran the tumbling competition for it and for all the hard work they put into a first time world wide competition of this kind.
I did work pretty hard on those rocks but the most work was in taking all those photos and getting them posted in a timely manner,,,,I doubt if I'd ever do that again,,,,the photo part! lol
I thought by posting the photos it might help others to actually see whats going on instead of trying to explain it in words. THIS is what it's all about,,,,,,,,,,,,,giving and helping!
The magazine article and the prize was a HUGE plus but it's all you people who are my reward!
When I see someone post photos of their tumbled rocks,a piece of jewelery,a knife or any thing else I had a hand in helping them with,,,,that's the REAL prize for me.
I have no money to give but I do have a bit of knowledge that I don't want to take with me and only hope and pray that I will be remembered in some little way when someone looks at a piece they created or a tumbled rock and think of me a little.
This is what means more to me then anything I can win in a contest.
The REAL contest is "How much can we give" and you people just keep on giving and giving,,, You're ALL the winners in my contest!!
Thanks so very much for all your kind words and God Bless you ALL!!
