Indeed you did! - I do have to Thank you for your support.... And help me take some rock off my hands! I'm starting to see grass again in my back yard LOL. Just in time to start digging again this spring/summer! Did you get that machine up and running? Since I sold it to you, I've had at least 4 customers in the shop and email asking if I had any expando drum units for sale... LOL... I just say I did

I didn't know if I should start another thread or not... The 'strange unit' spinning lap arrived today. ;D Right on time. And I love the eco-friendly cotton packing! Definitely will reuse it. I'm really excited, just looking at it! ;D Don't have a clue how to use it yet. Guess I'd better start searching for info on 'how to'. It'll be a while before I get it cleaned up and try it out, but I knew that going in. Anyone got a method for removing rust? LOL Thanks rockhound97058! Now I can try 'lapidary' without a huge investment. Something I've wanted to do for a long time. Later, jeri

Thanks for the note Jeri. Good luck with the project! Anything you need just let me know and we'll try and get you started.
Yeah isn't that cotton material great! I have a buddy who works at a factory in Portland, Oregon who makes aircraft turbine parts. They ship sensitive parts with that cotton and usually toss it into the Dumpster. He snags as much as he can for me. I do use new boxes through the post office, however everything else I try and recycle and re-use as much as possible!
As far as rust removal - They do make chemicals (which are really toxic) but works fairly well. I myself either use a wire brush or if it fits I toss into the bead blast cabinet. A good paint to use is Rustoleum Hammered Paint. You can get it in a spray can or quart can and brush on. It's a great paint and commonly used for lapidary machines and the best part is you can paint over rust with it.
