On the advice of many folks here on RTH, I opened an Etsy store. I also took the advice of many of you, and raised the prices of my wire wraps a bit, so don't freak out when you see them. I still tried to keep them affordable! Thanks everyone for giving me the encouragement you have!!! www.etsy.com/shop/superioragatesMarie

Looks good! I think the prices are fair, but then, I,too am still trying to get a handle on that stuff also. I will eventually follow you and give etsy a try also. Thank you for posting this.

Looks great, Marie. Prices look about right for silver-plated wire. Definitely increase them if/when you switch to sterling silver, though!

Another place to sell your stuff is artfire.com. I have a store there as well as etsy. You just pay a flat rate per month. I think it is still $12.00 a month. When you consider what you end up paying in fees, sometimes the flat rate is better.

Marie Looks nice, a suggestion we just received from soneone else on Etsy is to size your items, place a small ruler or list size in descripition. Good Luck!

A couple more suggestions (are you over whelmed yet?). Dig deeper's right. With jewelry, I list the height & width. I prefer that over a ruler in the pic. Just my opinion. The other suggestion is to help people see it on themselves. If something is going to look gorgeous with a black sweater, say so. With jeans? say so. Just a thought. Maybe not a good one, but a thought just the same. Jo

Yep gonna do some measuring tomorrow morning, and get that posted as well! Thank you guys for all your help....I need all I can get! LOL Marie

When you list the measurements, be sure to include both metric and English.

Wonderful idea Marie. I love the pictures with the leather background and also the descriptions. I think that you should mention you would be able to make custom pieces. Best of Luck:)

Nice! Now do them in silver, add $25 to each one and you'll be set!

Very nice store Nice wraps, good prices I think. I was thinking of doing this myself a few days ago but I can't wrap my brain around their fees. Are you charged the .20 or whatever it is per item each month or? Can anyone help this old, chemically impaired brain understand?

they charge you .20 for 4 months. Then when you sell something, it's 3.5% of the sale. If it doesn't sell after the 4 months, you pay the .20 again...but to me it was worth it....well...I hope it will be anyways!!

Store is great! Cabs and wraps are beautiful! I love the 4th one - the one wrapped in copper. Copper wire has always been my favorite!
One thing I noticed. Not to be the spelling police, but "right hear in Minnesota" should be "here". Other than that looks great to me.
Prices are reasonable. If I wasn't allergic to any kind of metals, except 14k and above gold, I'd be ordering that copper wrapped one!

As long as your at it, keep the bails up, so people don't have to figure which way it hangs. Check out the pictures in the high end shops to see how their orientation is.
It's not such a big deal opening one of these online shops... You've probably only got, what?, A month of research, 2 weeks of fretting over it, 3-4 days of taking pics and working them over, another week of posting to the account and setting up pricing and shipping schedules.
Piece of cake...Right?! ;D
Good work, I don't see a problem with your pricing either.
Keep us posted on your results (remember, we won't tell the IRS so you don't have to hide anything here).
Dr Joe
