Hello, I got a slab of that material from Stonesthatrock and I made this cab: The other orientation: Side view: Backlight: It had some fractures, so I wasn't sure it will hold in one piece but I super-glued it twice (firstly as a slab and then after grinding) and it came out OK. Thank you for looking, Adrian

That's a gorgeous cab, Adrian. Don't you just feel like you could dive into the middle of it? I had a little bit of it and made 2 cabs before I found out what it was. Wish I could afford to buy some more.
I really like the way you shaped this one - very unique and "outside the box" design. Great job!

Adrian I love that stuff, I picked that matieral in the contest HPD had, and man am I happy I did! It is just so pretty, I like the regular white cacoxenite too, it is a very cool material. You did a fabulous job with that cab as usual!!!!

Adrian, I think that turned out beautifully! Quartz is so hard to cab at times because it loves to undercut and split. You have a fantastic shine on that one too! Great job! Fran

Beautiful Job Adrian! Maybe someone can answer this question...is much of the Cocoxenite in Amethyst material fractured?? I have a few slabs but most of them are quite fractured. Just wondering if that's the norm... Steve

Nice job Adrian, love the shape.
Steve, I picked up a pound of this stuff and most of it is fractured, pissed me off for what I paid for it!

Thank you all, yes it was a bit fractured but it seems it wasn't too deep, otherwise I wouldn't had been able to shape it like that and to flat dome it. Steve, it's the first time when I work this material. I didn't work amethyst either but read that finding unfractured amethyst is also a chalange.

Thanks Ed and Adrian. That's what I figured because the few slabs I have are pretty darn fractured as well. Steve
