Hi everyone!

This is my first first vibe batch and I really was just shooting for an exercise to get my feet wet with the vibe's nature, procedures and to see how the old Lot-O ran and held up. I used the newer red one from this thread.

The old vibe can still put a shine on. One of the bearings in the motor started squawking a bit near the end of polish, but I think I'll be able to nurse it along for a while if I stay on top of it. The Lot-O is really gonna speed up my finish time. With 2 large rotaries feeding, it shouldn't take long to accumulate 4.5 lbs of material to finish. Just yell at me when your sick of photos!!! LOL! ;D

The load was mostly local Agate with a few local Jaspers thrown in. Whole and sliced nodules. A special thanks goes out to Connrock for being so helpful and a great inspiration!

Beautiful batch of stones, lots of shine. The red stones stand out. Blow the dust out of the motor and a spot of 3&1 on the berrings might get it to run a while longer. We blew out the motors on the Lortones and they run cooler now. They collect a lot of dust on the bench.

It is a great shine, and not to take anything away from Steve's polish, Lakers are easier than a lot of rocks to bring to a high shine because they're so darn hard.

I think your right Chuck, the shining part is the easiest with the agates. It's the prep part... dealing with the pits and fractures and laying a good foundation that's challenging. The mixed hardness Jaspers can be a bugger to tumble though.
